Yang Shu was born in LiaoNing (辽宁), China. She teaches Chinese and Higher Chinese at Primary and Secondary levels. She has more than 10 years of teaching experience.
Yang Shu started in an accounting career upon her graduation from a local college. She worked for several China state enterprises and banks for more than 10 years. In 2002 she made her boldest decision to move from cold Northeastern China to hot sunny Singapore, with the intention to switch over to teaching career in the city state known for world-class education.
Yang Shu started as a teaching assistant with a Chinese enrichment center and soon moved on to work as a Chinese tutor in tuition centre. Her tutoring style and technique soon gained good recognition among parents. She became an independent professional tutor as more parents requested her to be home tutor for their children.
In her constant pursuit to improve Chinese tutoring skills, Yang Shu completed a Diploma In Chinese Language Teaching (华语作为第二语言教学专科课程) in Singapore. The course is an extension program from Shanghai Fudan University, which is one of China top Universities. International Cultural Exchange, School of Fudan University (复旦大学国际文化交流学院) is well known for their quality teaching and outstanding research achievements in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
Yang Shu also makes a good connection with local educational establishments to ensure that she is constantly updated on Singapore educational policies. She attends workshops and seminars regularly keep her abreast with latest teaching trend and policies.
